Furniture Finisher/French Polisher

Apprentice End Point Assessment

Apprentice new standard and End Point Assessment (EPA) for furniture finishers/ french polishers is now live.

The trailblazer group that developed the new standard is lead by the British Furniture Manufacturers Association with input from Occupational Awards and a range of notable employers. The standard replaces the existing apprenticeship framework.

The EPA is the practical assessment right at the end of the apprenticeship, during which a portfolio of work evidence will have been put together that meets the standards and knowledge questions completed. Functional skills exams of Level 1 English and Maths must be passed and Level 2 taken.

When the employer is satisfied the apprentice meets the professional standard in all areas, the portfolio will be sampled by the assessor along with an observation of the apprentice working professionally, much like an NVQ assessment. The assessments will be graded and if passed will go before the trailblazer panel for review and certification by A.C.E (Apprentice Certificates England).

If you are an employer or prospective apprentice  in London or the South East and would like more information about the process contact us .
